Pierrette Requier

Pierrette Requier is a published bilingual poet, a spoken word performer, and an emerging playwright and a speaker as well as an event organiser. As a bilingual writer involved in the Alberta literary community for over 2 decades Pierrette now serves as literary representative of the Regroupement artistique francophone de l’Alberta (RAFA) and on the Edmonton Poetry Festival board. She has enjoyed her term as the 25th Writer-in-Residence at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton (2012) as well as serving as mentor for the Writer’s Guild of Alberta Mentorship Program. She has designed the Wind Eye Writing Seminars and has been hosting monthly gatherings for the past 13 years. Her most recent interest is that of featuring the wonderful sonority of all languages that may be spoken and written across Canada. Performing with Le trio avec brio she has enjoyed putting that dream into practice by collaborating in 5 trilingual performances with poet Adriana Davies and musician Alison Grant-Préville.
